2021 has been one of the busiest years yet for the wedding industry and we were lucky enough to capture our first out of state wedding this year in Chicago Illinois! Having never been to Illinois, this wedding came with many challenges but also amazing opportunities! We had the chance to explore the incredible city of Chicago while also capturing a beautiful wedding hosted at the Versailles Banquet Hall! The beautiful hall featured dreamy curtain backdrops and breathtaking chandeliers hanging all over the room- the perfect setting for Yaroslav and Lana to begin their journey into marriage!

Filming in a new state poses many challenges including packing enough gear, flying several videographers, and finding new locations to create some magic. As this was our first time in Chicago, we opted to fly in a day early to explore the city and location scout for some incredible views fitting the couple’s vision for their wedding film. This gave us a chance to familiarize ourselves with the city and talk through details before the wedding day. The day of the wedding, the couple decided to rent a cozy Airbnb to get ready in. Located next to a beautiful fountain pond, this provided the perfect spot to capture their first look! The anticipation and immediate joy captured on the bride and groom’s faces during the first look is one of the most satisfying reactions to film! 

The creative shoot took place at the incredible Bahai House of Worship, a breathtaking temple in Wilmette Illinois, just outside city. The vast temple located within a beautiful suburban neighborhood provided so many amazing spots to create some magic. Mixing in the grandeur of the temple with the classic and homey suburban brick homes, we were able to capture a variety of shots to include into their wedding film. The bride and groom effortlessly followed our direction making the creative shoot an absolute delight to film! With ease, we captured the necessary shots and headed over to the Versailles Banquet Hall for the ceremony and reception.

The Versailles Banquet Hall, featuring an elegant and classic design, was beautifully decorated with sparkling chandeliers and gorgeous floral pieces along stunning white pillars. Standing amongst their closest family and friends, Yaroslav and Lana said their I do’s in the midst of a chandler heaven. The room was quickly flipped for the reception which consisted of lots of games and performances from loved ones. The guests were so lively, the reception went on till twelve in the morning! We had such a blast filming this amazing couple and we hope you enjoy this amazing out of state wedding film celebrating Mr. and Mrs. Boychuk!
