Summer weddings are so much better when paired with a view, especially with the view on Mary and Will’s wedding day at the Forest House Lodge in Foresthill, CA. Featuring endless views of the Sierra Mountains and a cozy lodge to host the reception, we were so excited to capture this bride and groom’s special day. With a breathtaking backdrop of rolling green hills surrounded by those nearest and dearest, it was the perfect setting to celebrate the union of Mary and Will.

The venue provided so many beautiful locations for the bride and groom’s wedding day from start to finish, including a stunning stone-paved garden just behind the lodge. We took advantage of this beautifully intimate spot and filmed the first look between the bride and her father in the midst of falling flower petals- one of our favorite moments from the day. While first looks between the the bride and groom will always be remarkable, the trend of also having a first look with parents is quickly becoming a favorite for wedding videographers as well!

The ceremony took place at the Grand Sierra Point, an incredible lookout point at Forest House lodge. Nestled amidst century old trees, canopies of greenery, and majestic mountains, there couldn’t have been a more perfect location to say “I do”. The drone footage captured at this viewpoint were nothing short of breathtaking. With beautiful promises to each other and blessings from all the guests, Mary and Will began their journey as husband and wife.

The reception took place inside the lodge, providing a cozy and moody atmosphere for the remainder of the wedding. Another favorite moment from Mary and Will’s special day was the incredibly unique garter removal. Surprising Mary in costume, both Will and his best man ran into the reception hall in dinosaur costumes as they danced around Mary. Taking wedding traditions and making it their own, we had so much fun capturing the reactions of the bride and guests during this unforgettable moment. The night continued with games, sweet toasts, delicious cake cutting, and of course, lots of dancing.
