Even in the midst of a quarantine, pandemic, and a wildfire, this bride and groom decided on forever at the beautiful Mountain Shadows Retreat in Foresthill, California. Overlooking the American River Canyon and surrounded by rolling forest hills, this venue provided the perfect setting for a private, outdoor wedding celebrating the start of a new journey. Outdoor weddings are a favorite of ours, especially when the view is of stunning hills of greenery. Though the wedding took place during a wildfire, the smoke served as a moody backdrop to the already breathtaking view provided by this private estate. Standing on a deck, overlooking beautiful Foresthill, Dmytro and Maria said I do in front of their closest family and friends. With lots of love and laughter, the wedding reception was filled with toasts, games, and performances by loved ones. Our absolute favorite moment from the wedding was the bride and groom’s first dance. Underneath beautiful string lights with bubbles blown all around them, Dmytro and Maria shared their first dance as husband and wife. There is always so much emotion shared in such an intimate moment and as wedding videographers, it is our goal to capture that emotion so that our couples can re-live those moments every time they watch their wedding film. The night ended with more celebration and dancing with all the guests. Our second day shoot was filmed in beautiful Lake Tahoe which served as the perfect scenery for our creative session. The stunning views of the lake, mountain, and forest perfectly blended into the shots captured on their wedding day.
