Unique Fall Wedding at Camp Nauvoo in Placerville, CA- Josh and Katie

Through hail and rain, this bride and groom triumphed over unpredictable weather to have the most stunning fall wedding in the hidden gem of Camp Nauvoo. Located in the rolling hills of El Dorado County, this venue featured a stunning gazebo as well as a beautiful meadow with a lovely creek running beside it. Quickly adapting to the weather conditions, no amount of rain could dampen this happy couple’s wedding day! Taking their wedding to the tents, Katie and Josh shared their I do’s surrounded by those nearest and dearest.

The fall season is a favorite for many wedding videographers as nature perfectly provides the most beautiful backdrops with the changing fall colors. Cool crisp air, changing leaves, and beautiful views, its no wonder the fall season is a popular time to get married! Simple locations such as parks can easily be transformed into the most spectacular of creative shoot locations, which is exactly why we took advantage to capture the bride and groom’s first look at a local park in Roseville, CA. Though the day started with clouds, the sky instantly cleared up as we made our way to the first look location. Anxiously waiting to see each other, the groom’s reaction was EVERYTHING! Pro-tip, mic up the groom before the first look! We captured a stunning first look exchange, including some sweet audio from the groom that we incorporated into the wedding film!

Traveling up to Placerville, the ceremony and reception both took place at Camp Nauvoo. Originally planning for an outdoor ceremony and reception, plans were quickly altered as the weather took a turn. Anticipating some possible rain, the bride and groom had already prepared the reception to be under tents. What was not planned was moving the ceremony into the tents as well! This posed as a challenge for us wedding videographers as we now had to share a space where reception tables, decor, and seats were already set up. Thankfully, we were able to quickly adapt  and find spots between the guests to capture every angle of the ceremony. Despite all the changes, it was incredible to see just how happy the bride and groom were to finally be married.

Remarkably, the weather cleared up just in time for the creative shoot. We were able to capture effortless candid moments shared between the now husband and wife. As if nothing else mattered, it was clear to see the love shared between the groom and his bride. With clear skies, we were also able to get incredible aerial footage of the wedding venue using our Mavic Pro 2 drone!

Continuing under the tents, the reception was filled with speeches, games, and raffles for the guests to participate in. It was so much fun to hear the many stories shared from family and friends and we wanted to incorporate bits and pieces of those speeches into the wedding film to help us tell bride and groom’s love story. Though the night grew colder, the party continued with dancing under the gazebo. With beautiful hanging string-lights all around, it was the perfect spot for the bride and groom to share their first dance and the best place to start a dance party.

Due to the ever-changing weather conditions, we planned a second day shoot with the bride and groom to capture some more creative shoot footage. The second day shoot was filmed in breathtaking Foresthill, CA. With trees as far as the eye could see, the scenery perfectly blended into the footage captured on their wedding day.

We were so incredibly honored to be a part of Katie and Josh’s wedding day and we hope you enjoy this unique fall wedding film celebrating Mr. and Mrs. Lego!
